About the owner
Dr. Hisham Mahmoud is an accomplished environmental and financial consultant based in Cairo, Egypt, with over 25 years of professional experience spanning financial analysis, project feasibility studies, and environmental accounting. He holds a PhD in Accounting from the International University of America in London, an MBA from Ashbury University in New York, and a B.Sc. in Commerce (Accounting) from Ain Shams University.
Dr. Hisham is a seasoned expert in the financial structuring of solid waste, agricultural, and e-waste management projects, and currently serves as the Financial Manager for the National Solid Waste Management Programme in Egypt. He is also the founder of Upcycle Environmental Services, where he delivers transport, sorting, and resale solutions for recyclable materials.
Throughout his career, he has consulted for globally recognized institutions such as the World Bank, UNDP, KfW, and AfDB, as well as private investors and governmental authorities. His extensive regional experience covers the MENA region and Africa.
He is highly skilled in preparing detailed financial feasibility studies, including full-scale financial modeling, market and technical analysis, cost-recovery planning, and investment viability assessments. His reports regularly include key financial indicators such as NPV, IRR, and profitability index, and are often used to guide investment decisions and secure financing for large-scale environmental infrastructure projects.
Dr. Hisham is also a certified environmental consultant in the field of environmental economics and accounting, and a member of the Egyptian Taxes Organization. His work is distinguished by a deep understanding of Egyptian tax laws, rigorous financial modeling, and a hands-on approach to designing financial systems and controls.
